Art does not fill the imagination with images of ways and possibilities only; it unlocks the senses for the habit of the new, the different, the unimagined, and even the unthinkable. Thus, art anticipates new possibilities, not because it provides a vision of the future, but because it perfects our collective capacity to imagine other worlds, other forms and other landscapes.
